World Industries Skateboards History

World Industries Skateboards was created in 1987 by Steve Rocco with some additional help from his good friend, John Lucero. Skaters like Rodney Mullen and Mike Vallely were among some of the elite original skate team riders for World Industries. World Industries has been a long standing skateboard industry name with a powerful global presence. The company is widely known for its deviant Flameboy mascot.

In 2002, the company was sold to Globe International Limited. The company continued its successful market position while growing its grassroots heritage. World Industries was recently acquired from Globe by the current global licensing agent, i.e. Distribution.  Today, the company remains as a major player in the skateboard industry.
