Habitat Skateboards History

Habitat Skateboards was created in 1999 and operates under DNA Distribution. The Habitat label is also a sister brand to Alien Workshop Skateboards and Reflex Bearings. Burton, the innovative mastermind and industry leader in snowboarding, acquired DNA Distribution in February 2008.

During its start up in 2000, Habitat Skateboards quickly formalize a team of five amateurs that were on their way to establishing solid professional skate careers, some of which have continued to remain loyal to Habitat throughout the years.  Along the way, they added more elite team riders, which helped position them as a true skate industry threat. They are a forward thinking company that incorporates unique global tours, innovative skateboard design, and the evolution of their elite professional and amateur skate team. The company has created a brand image that is organically art and design inspired.

Habitat Skateboards Construction Technology

Habitat Skateboard decks include Skylite Construction and Corrugated technology into all of their skateboard decks. Skylite uses 5-ply lamination which allows for an overall lighter weight skate deck without jeopardizing strength. This skate deck is ideal for street skaters. They also employ a corrugated bottom ply that provides less friction during slides.
