CreateASkate.org teaches science, math & art to kids through skateboard design

Want to build your own custom skateboard deck during school hours? Check out the CreateASkate program to find out how.

CreateASkate is a nonprofit program that combines science, math, engineering and art with skateboarding. Participating students learn to build a skateboard from start to finish. For just $20, you’ll get to build and design your own skateboard deck.

All junior and senior high school students currently enrolled in a woodworking or art class are eligible to participate. You’ll have to get your teacher involved if you want to participate, though.

The CreateASkate website has a ton of information you can give your parents and teachers on why this program is a valuable in the classroom. Once you convince them, you’ll be on your way to skating with your one-of-a-kind custom-made skateboard.
